Nursing Home Abuse Lawyers in Denver

Standing Up to Cruelty and Neglect
in Elder Care Facilities Across Colorado

Frost & Beck, P.C. was founded by experienced family lawyers explicitly to fight nursing home abuse and neglect in Colorado. Our nursing home abuse attorneys are passionate about bringing justice to those who have been treated badly in elderly care because we have experienced firsthand the heartache and betrayal that comes with learning a loved one has been mistreated by an individual or organization you thought you could trust. Determined to prevent others from going through the same harrowing experience without an attorney to fight on their behalf, attorneys Christelle C. Beck and Leslie A. Frost decided to take this practice to the next level by expanding their focus to include nursing home abuse and neglect. Our drive and determination to protect the rights of those whose loved ones have been mistreated is unmatched in the Denver and Boulder areas.

If someone you cherish has been the victim of nursing home abuse or neglect, call Frost & Beck, P.C. now at (720) 330-4623 or contact us online to speak with a lawyer who is on your side.

A Force to be Reckoned With

Frost & Beck, P.C. was founded in 2009 originally as a family law firm serving the state of Colorado. Then something happened which caused the firm to change its direction—founding attorney and partner Christelle C. Beck‘s mother was hurt while in the care of a nursing home facility. While building her case, Attorney Beck experienced difficulties finding a competent and compassionate attorney to assist her and her mother through their difficult ordeal. In light of this event, she and her daughter, founding partner Leslie A. Frost, decided to take matters into their own hands. Now, Frost & Beck, P.C. is dedicated to providing empathetic yet aggressive representation to anyone whose lives have been affected by nursing home abuse or neglect. Because we personally understand the pain and suffering involved in such cases, we put our 40+ years of combined legal experience to work and we don’t hold back. We are a force to be reckoned with.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What should I do if I suspect abuse?

First, talk with your loved one in elder care and see how they feel. Keep in mind that they may be too embarrassed or afraid to talk about the abuse, so try to speak with them privately and in a comfortable environment to help them open up. Next, speak with the nursing home manager and hear them out—they have a responsibility to be honest and keep you in the know. Observe the staff’s behavior if you still have suspicions and take notes if you see anything out of the ordinary. Photograph any injuries and keep copies of relevant documents, such as accident reports. Whatever happens, don’t lose your temper as this could cause problems for you and your case in the future. Keep the evidence in a safe place and contact the authorities and/or an attorney when you are ready to report.

  • How can the authorities help?

If there is clear evidence of abuse and/or you believe your loved one is in imminent danger, contact the police. You can file a complaint or ask them to come to the nursing home to intervene or investigate if needed.

  • How can a lawyer help me?

If you are certain there has been an instance of nursing home abuse or neglect, consult a lawyer. An attorney can help you pursue a lawsuit through negotiation or litigation. Anyone who suffers due to neglect or malpractice in a nursing home is entitled to justice and compensation—a nursing home abuse lawyer can help you achieve this. They will take care of complicated paperwork, the collection of evidence, settlement negotiation, and other legal issues.

  • Who can file a nursing home abuse claim?

A victim can file a lawsuit themselves, or a relative can file on their behalf.

  • Who is liable for nursing home abuse?

Liability can vary from situation to situation, but typically a charge can be brought against caregivers such as a doctor or a nurse, nursing home administrators or supervisors, and/or the owners or operators of the nursing home.

  • What compensation is available?

Compensation for nursing home abuse may include payments for medical bills, physical and mental therapy, costs associated with switching to a new nursing home or caregiving service, pain and suffering endured, and an attorney’s fees.
