Another Paternity Lawsuit Awaits Rapper Future

The mother of a child whose parentage is in dispute may find that the financial burdens of raising a child alone can be daunting. A paternity test can often prove legally that a man who has been denying parentage is the father of a child. The test may also be useful for men who face false accusations of parentage.

Readers in the Denver area may be interested in hearing about another paternity suit that rapper Future is currently facing. DNA tests have only recently proven that the 27-year-old rapper is the father of a 10-year-old boy. That case, which was settled in early January, resulted in Future being ordered to pay $1,662 a month in child support for his son.

The new paternity case that Future is facing was filed in Georgia by a woman who claims that she gave birth to their child on Dec. 4, 2012. The woman wants Future to pay child support for the baby and is requesting a DNA test if the rapper disagrees with her claims about his involvement.

Paternity tests are useful for men seeking to connect with children who they think may be theirs as well as for mothers who need to prove who the fathers of their children are. In either case, child support issues and parental rights can be legally resolved once the results of the test are known.
